Course Description: Composite decking is increasingly being specified for residential and commercial projects due to its durability, low maintenance requirements, and sustainability benefits. This course explores the materials, manufacturing processes, and performance characteristics of modern composite decking, including moisture resistance, slip resistance, weathering performance, and long-term durability. Participants will also learn how composite decking can contribute to LEED® v5 and WELL Building Standard™ v2 objectives through recycled content, reduced embodied carbon, and enhanced access to healthy outdoor spaces. Real-world applications and innovative decking solutions will be reviewed to demonstrate their role in creating safe, sustainable, and accessible environments.
